MMFA Bullying Policy

MMFA Bullying Policy

Mechanicsburg Midget Football Association strives to provide a safe, positive playing environment for all athletes. It is our priority to ensure that bullying, harassment and intimidation do not occur while athletes are involved in these extra-curricular activities. Should any of these behaviors occur, immediate action will be taken to ensure the safety of victims, and appropriate repercussions will be delivered as a consequence.

Bullying is defined as any intentional behavior aimed at harming another person(s). Bullying can be done electronically, in writing, verbally, or can be physical in nature. The occurrence can be severe, persistent, or pervasive and causes another person injury or discomfort, whether physical or mental. This behavior interferes with an athlete(s) ability to perform their assigned roles both on and off the field.

Bullying includes cyber bullying using any form of electronic communication. This type of communication can be, but is not limited to text messages, voicemail, email, or social media posts (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.). Other examples may include purposeful exclusion, rumors and gossiping.

MMFA Board members shall quickly and thoroughly investigate any potential instances of bullying. Once investigated and verified, proper action will be taken. Confidentiality of all parties shall be maintained at all times. Reporting parties shall be free of any retaliation for good faith reporting.
